In 2009 there was a federal government program called cash for clunkers. We had a Suzuki Grand Vitara. It had been a great vehicle, but with almost 170,000 miles it was starting to have issues and the gas mileage was poor. On a whim we drove down, cashed our clunker, and came home with a 2010 Toyota Prius. One of the criticisms of the program was that the difference in mileage for many people was not significant enough. For us it was amazing. Another criticism was that it did not stimulate the economy. We would not have been able to purchase the Toyota at that time without the program. We both love the Prius. It has been a fantastic car. Great mileage, quiet, comfortable, low maintenance, and believe it or not, it is great in the snow. There is an electronic traction control that really helps. The down side is that it is low to the ground. So the hood and the bottom have a special rock magnetism.
I just go over it every now and then with the little Toyota touch up paint bottle. We have around 90,000 plus miles and so far she has been a dream.
My wife did have a person on their cell phone back into her in a parking lot. Get off your cell phones! I mean really, in a parking lot. Just finish the call first.
I repaired the bumper with a simple heat gun. Bumper repair page. You can use this link or just go to the menu above.
